A blog about women's fashion and style from a male perspective.
I think the vintage sheepskin coat is a fantastic look for the winter, especially with all the snow and cold weather we are having.  I think it’s important that it has that battered look and feel to it, rather than a lot of the high street versions that are currently in the shops.  For me, there are certain items that for the most part look better with age and a leather jacket along with a sheepskin jacket, definitely fall into that category.
Depending on the cut and fit the jacket, it can be worn with most things -whether that be an old pair of jeans, nice skirt or dress.  They are almost the perfect coat to throw on to go on a casual night out, down the pub or just after rolling out of bed hungover on a Sunday morning to get the newspapers.  What I absolutely love about them, is the ‘I don’t give a shit’ attitude that almost jumps off the wearer, which in turn makes them super attractive and sexy – yes even having just rolled out of bed with horse breath.
As you can tell I am a huge fan of the vintage sheepskin coat and as i said before I am yet to see one on the high street that compares or even looks very good.  For the most part they have a much heftier price tag compared to their vintage counterparts and yet actually look cheaper.  Here is one in Topshop which is pretty much double the price of a vintage one and for me isn’t particularly nice and has a terrible collar.

Although the sheepskin coat is undoubtedly a bit of a fashion item at the moment, they are the type of coats you can put in your wardrobe for a few years and will look even better when you pull it out.   There are not many items you can say that about, so for me it’s a must have for every woman.
